Introduction

What is not explained by the kinematic model is the interesting physics that takes place at SS433, like the nature of the underlying star or stars, the mechanisms that eject, collimate and precess the beams. Also the evolution of the system that led to this unusual object is not explained. In order to give answers to these questions, observational data has been taken at several wavelengths, line optical, radio and X-ray. Two monitoring campaings were planned in 1985 and 1987. Astronomers from all over the world were involved to make simultaneous observations nearly daily at different wavelengths.
